About CHRONOS

CHRONOS is a global intelligence alert service. It monitors systemic-risk domains continuously and publishes only when something materially changes, not routine news and not noise.

Mission

CHRONOS exists to help readers understand consequential developments early, with the evidence, reasoning and uncertainty laid out in the open, so they can judge the analysis for themselves.

Intelligence should be falsifiable.

CHRONOS does not only collect evidence that supports an interpretation. Each alert also attempts to document:

negative evidence that weakens the thesis
resilience and shock absorbers that could contain the impact
confirmation signals that would strengthen it
invalidation signals that would weaken it
known uncertainty
the specific evidence that would prove the interpretation wrong

What makes an alert different

A CHRONOS alert is published only when a development crosses a materiality threshold. Each alert states what changed, what is genuinely new, why it is urgent, its direct and indirect effects, and the conditions that would raise or lower its urgency. Alerts keep one permanent address for their entire life.

Evidence-first methodology

CHRONOS separates five kinds of statement, and aims to keep them distinguishable in every alert:

Facts: established by primary or authoritative evidence.
Reported claims: statements by third parties that CHRONOS has not independently confirmed.
Analysis: reasoning about what the evidence means.
Inference: conclusions that go beyond the direct evidence.
Uncertainty: what is unknown, disputed or could change.

Accuracy, sources & errors

CHRONOS works to verify material information using credible sources and, when practical, cross-checks consequential claims against multiple independent or authoritative sources. Primary and official evidence is prioritized when available.

However, CHRONOS can make mistakes. Sources may be incomplete, outdated, incorrectly reported, misunderstood, later corrected, disputed, or wrong.

Automated analysis may misunderstand a source, miss important context, incorrectly connect events, misclassify information, overstate or understate significance, or produce an incorrect analytical conclusion.

Publication by CHRONOS does not guarantee that every fact, interpretation, score or conclusion is correct. Review the cited evidence and independently verify information before making consequential decisions.

When credible new evidence materially changes the factual record, or shows that CHRONOS was wrong or incomplete, CHRONOS may correct, update, resolve or retract an alert. Material revision history is preserved whenever technically available, so readers can distinguish earlier publications from later changes.

Automated and AI-assisted analysis

CHRONOS uses automated systems, including artificial intelligence, to assist with monitoring, source review, classification, summarization, comparison and analytical organization. Automated systems can make mistakes.

An alert is not represented as manually reviewed by a human unless that review actually occurred. Automated analysis does not transform a third-party claim into a CHRONOS-confirmed fact. Every alert is designed so readers can inspect its underlying sources and stated uncertainty.

Alert lifecycle

CREATE: a new alert is published at a permanent address.
UPDATE: new evidence changes the alert; a new numbered revision is issued.
RESOLVE: the development has run its course; the alert remains available.
RETRACT: the alert should no longer be relied upon; the record of it remains.

Urgency levels

Level 1 · Watch: A development worth tracking. No material transmission yet.
Level 2 · Guarded: Early transmission is plausible; buffers remain intact.
Level 3 · Elevated: Transmission is underway in at least one channel.
Level 4 · Severe: Broad transmission with limited remaining buffers.
Level 5 · Critical: Systemic disruption in progress or imminent.
