Privacy Policy

Currently: like any website, when you visit CHRONOS your browser sends standard technical information (IP address, browser type, requested page, referring page and time of request) to the hosting and infrastructure providers that serve the site. They may process it in server and security logs to deliver the site, protect it against abuse and diagnose faults.

Pages load the IBM Plex fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser also sends a standard request (including your IP address) to Google when a page loads.

Currently: the only personal information readers can provide is through the contact form: your name, email address, inquiry type, subject, message and, optionally, an alert URL. Please do not include passwords, API keys, authentication tokens, financial credentials, medical records, government IDs or other sensitive information. Obvious credentials submitted by mistake are automatically redacted before storage where detectable.

Currently: CHRONOS sets no advertising or analytics cookies. If you switch to light mode, your browser stores one local-storage setting (chronos-theme) so the choice is remembered. It stays on your device and is not used to identify you. The audio brief player does not store anything on your device beyond normal browser caching of audio files.

Currently: CHRONOS does not install a third-party analytics or advertising service (such as Google Analytics) in its pages. The hosting platform may provide the operator with aggregate traffic statistics (for example page-view counts) derived from its request logs. Possible future practice: if a dedicated analytics tool is added, this policy will be updated first to name it.

Currently: CHRONOS does not send newsletters or marketing email and has no mailing list. If you contact CHRONOS, a reply may be sent to the email address you provided. Possible future practice: an opt-in alert email service may be offered later; it would require your explicit sign-up.

CHRONOS currently relies on these categories of providers, which process data only to provide their services:

• Website hosting, content delivery and network security (serving pages and blocking abuse).
• A managed cloud database (storing published alerts and contact-form messages).
• Google Fonts (typeface delivery).
• An AI speech service, used to generate the audio version of alerts from published alert text only; no visitor information is sent to it.
• An email-processing provider used for internal content delivery to CHRONOS; it does not receive visitor data.

Information is used to deliver and secure the service, respond to your requests, investigate corrections, protect against spam and abuse, troubleshoot problems, and meet applicable legal obligations. It is not used for advertising or profiling.

CHRONOS does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information may be disclosed to the service providers above, or where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of others. Contact messages are never published.

Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to handle the request and related follow-up, then deleted; the operator aims to delete them within 12 months. For rate-limiting, a one-way hash of your connection address is stored with the message instead of the address itself. Provider logs are retained according to those providers' own schedules.

CHRONOS is served only over HTTPS. Contact messages are stored in a database that is not publicly readable and are accessible only to server-side systems operated for CHRONOS. No system is perfectly secure.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, or to object to its processing. To make a request, use the contact form and choose “Privacy Request”. You will not be treated differently for exercising your rights. Identity may need to be verified before a request is fulfilled.

California residents may request to know, delete or correct personal information. CHRONOS does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and does not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.

CHRONOS is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and it will be deleted.

Alerts link to third-party sources. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which CHRONOS does not control.

This policy will be updated before CHRONOS adopts a new data practice. The “Last updated” date shows the current version.
